We all have a story to tell, and we all love watching great stories told on the big screen. The Seahorse Film Festival celebrates stories, the stories of our region - Newcastle and the Hunter - and exciting, well told stories from anywhere and everywhere in the world.

In celebrating the art of story, The Seahorse Film Festival seeks to unearth and amplify new voices and to inspire the next generation of cinematic storytellers. Our high school category engages young storytellers, particularly those who don't get the chance to explore the world of film and supports them to take part in the Seahorse Festival.

The University of Newcastle and Dendy Cinemas are incredibly proud to be launching this new initiative to celebrate and nurture cinema in the Hunter Region and beyond.
